This year proceeds of the Yard Sale will go to the McClelland family. Harrison Holden McClelland is a 16 months old that was diagnosed with a brain tumor on March 4. Harrison started walking before his first birthday. He was doing well making improvements every day. It was advised he get tubes in his ears because of a series of bad ear infections. Harrison was falling down a lot and lost his balance frequently, which was attributed to the fluid in his ears. But after the tubes were place the problem did not go away. The family was told to get a MRI on Harrison to make sure he did not have any neurological problems. That was when the tumor was found.
The kind of tumor Harrison had is called a medulloblastoma tumor and was located in the back of his head in the cerebellum. While the MRI's show they removed 100% of the tumor he will still have to go through chemo therapy because of the reoccurred incidents of this kind of tumor and cancer cells that may still exist. He is being taken to Sloan-Kettering in Manhattan and between the gas, tolls, co-pays and parking the bills are quickly adding up. Harrison is a strong willed little boy who loves playing with his brothers. He is happy and loving child who does not understand why he is constantly being poked with needles and having his blood pressure taken.
